Senior Linux Systems Administrator
As the senior member of the IT team, the Senior Linux Systems Administrator is responsible for the architecture and design, and assisting in support of our production and internal infrastructure. Additionally this will include responsibility for our internal IT and operations systems and tools. This role will provide server, infrastructure and application support. This position reports to the Director of IT Operations and works closely with other members of the IT team.
Responsibilities:

Design, architect and implement network infrastructure, both corporate and production facilities
-
Review and evaluate existing infrastructure to ensure optimal design, functionality, manageability and security
-
Develop and implement standards and processes for change and configuration management
-
Assist in standardization and administration of server farms at hosting facilities
-
Configure and manage performance monitoring tools and notification/alerting services
-
Lead and support implementation and maintenance of network infrastructure
-
Install, configure and manage network routers, switches, load balancers, firewalls, IPS, VPN, console servers, and other network devices
-
Design, configure and tune high availability Linux systems
-
Mentor and guide junior team members
-
Undertake various housekeeping and reporting functions for the areas of responsibility, including maintenance of shared resources
-
Compose, edit and maintain internal documentation for IT team in conjunction with other team members
-
Lead creating, implementing, executing, maintaining, and documenting proper disaster recovery/business continuity plans, policies and procedures
-
Participate in product deployments, upgrades and maintenance
-
Troubleshoot and resolve network-related issues as senior technical team member
-
Support developers by troubleshooting service-impacting issues involving the network
-
Monitor network stability and performance - ensuring 24x7 operations and resolving service issues as they occur
-
Oversee and execute planned network maintenance, minimizing impact to services
-
Participate in on-call rotation schedule with other team members
-
Liaison with vendors/manufacturers for purchases, warranty fixes, technical support, and other network-related issues
-
Oversee firewalls and perimeter security
-
Support third party applications products used in support of corporate mission critical systems
-
Maintain the patch levels of all OS and application patches on all systems using automated systems.
-
Routine systems admin functions to maintain both internal and customer facing servers
-
Ability to be on-call 24x7 to respond to site outages and emergencies

10+ years Linux and network administration experience

RHEL/CENTOS, Solaris a plus

mysql and/or other database experience

Strong Linux/Network security skill

Virtualization experience - VMware, Xen, KVM

Performance Monitoring/Hardware Sizing

SAN/FC/iSCSI, storage administration

Jira/Confluence and related products

Knowledge of Puppet/Chef or similar tools

Understanding of data storage concepts and backup/disaster recovery

Taxonomy Specialist -

Responsibilities:
- Assist with taxonomy development and content classification.
- Maintain existing product taxonomies.
- Develop new taxonomies and work with customers to develop customized taxonomies
Qualifications:
- Experience in developing topical and business taxonomies or controlled vocabularies preferred.
- Experience in indexing, classification, large-scale data management, or mapping of metadata.
- Experience in constructing complex Boolean search queries.
- Advanced MLS/MLIS candidates will be considered. Master's Degree in Library Science a plus.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with a moderate amount of supervision.
